Have you every wondered how to make Jamaica? This is the red drink that looks like punch. You find it in Mexican restaurants alongside of the Tamarindo and Horchata. Technically this is Hibiscus flower tea and it is supposedly good for your kidneys. My mom would always say, "Tomatelo porque es bueno para tus riƱones!" This is a healthy alternative to soda or the sugar loaded punch alternatives.
1 cup of dried jamaica
2 cups of water
Boil the jamaica in water and let simmer for 5 minutes. Fill a (1-2 gallon) pitcher with ice and pour jamaica until ice melts and fill the rest of the pitcher with water. Sweeten to taste. Serve cold with ice!
Simple and refreshing.
